I'm Done!

It's official. I got my grade today. I am a done! I officially graduate on Saturday! I can't wait! I'm so glad to be done. I know its crazy, but I really was making myself sick worrying that I might not graduate. But we are good! YEAH!!

Cookies

I made some cookies and covered pretzels Saturday night. I still have more to do, but don't these look good? I love that Santa is sitting in between all my cookies.

Jinglebelle?

I don't think Tinkerbelle is very happy with me! I bought her a sweater when we stayed with Karen and Tim over Thanksgiving. It was cold outside and she is not used to being out that much! She loves her sweater. It doesn't bother her at all. But this weekend I bought her some bells to wear around her collar and her paws. She walked around pulling her feet up real high. And ran from me when I tried to take her picture. Janie thinks we should call her Jinglebelle instead of Tinkerbelle.

Christmas Carols

A couple of nights ago I was listening to Christmas music and just doing stuff around the house. Janie and Alex were dancing to the music and using the guitar hero guitar to "play" along. Well I had to run upstairs for something and I could hear Janie belting out the song at the top of her lungs. So I quickly grabbed the camera and caught her using my Santa (from the Tic Tac Toe board) as a microphone singing some Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I knew Grandpa Gary would be so proud of her. Plus I didn't want her to feel like Alex is the only star in the family, so here is Janie singing her song! Sorry its a little shaky, I was telling her to sing louder with my other hand!

A JOB!

I got a job! YEAH! I will be working at SunTanCity as a Salon Director in Training. I will train for a about 6 weeks, then I will be ready to run my own SunTanCity. Once a new one opens in our area, or if another director happens to leave I will get that store. They will not put me more than a half hour away from home. So I have a job. I'm so excited I think this place looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait to meet all of the new people and it really just looks like a fun environment. I'm so excited. Thanks for all the prayers, and thoughts during this journey. I can't tell you how happy I am to have a job!

Living Room

Here is a better look of our living room. David took this picture through our window from the kitchen that overlooks the living room. For a cellphone picture I think its beautiful. Alex is playing tic tac toe with my Santa and Snowman set by himself. At least he isn't putting the sheep on top of the Inn in my Nativity set. I never know what I will find there! I'll try to catch a picture of his latest creation!

Finished

Tonight we finally finished our tree. We had it up. Had lights on it, but no ornaments. We finally got that done tonight and I think it looks great. We even have a few presents under there already. Do you see which one is yours??

Family Fun

When Karen and Susan and I went shopping I found the cutest kit to make Rice Krispie houses. It was like a gingerbread house only with Rice Krispies. It came with the pan, icing, gum drops and of course the Rice Krispie's and marshmallow. Janie did her house first. Alex did not want a house, he wanted a snowman, so we "free-handed" the snow man. There were some left overs so David did his own house too.

Can you guess which one is David's? He wouldn't pose with his, but I had to show his creativity using the powdered donuts for snow.

Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving was spent in Ozark with Karen, Tim, and Adam. Grandma Joy, Grandpa Gary, Susan and Kelley were there too. We had lots of fun playing with Adam. He was funny, every time I got out the camera he smiled like he knew he was supposed to. I think that must be first child syndrome because Janie does the same thing! :-) Karen and Susan and I got up EARLY Friday morning and hit the sales. We went to Kohl's, Wal-Mart, Michael's, Sam's (they had a free breakfast), and then to Bed Bath and Beyond. By then we had to head back to unload and started over again. We then went to the mall, Target and back to Michael's. Karen and Susan then had other things to do, so I was crazy and headed to Branson. We had a very good time. Here are some pictures. Mostly of Adam.

As Promised...

Here are a FEW of the pictures David took at the Jets game. Doesn't Brett look great!!

School

I have been so busy with Thanksgiving and school that I haven't been able to post lately. So I just wanted to say, I only have two weeks of school left and I'm stressing and getting excited and stressing some more. I'm down to a group project. I hate group projects. I hate that people have different work ethics. I know I am a procrastinator, but I at least get my stuff done on time. Especially when others are depending on me. I'm waiting on two people so I can finish my portion of the project which we had decided as a group would be done tonight. Obviously its not! UGH! But I just have to finish this by Sunday, turn it in, and then get my final question on Monday. Once I answer the ONE question (which is intimidating)I'm done. No more school. I can't wait. So pray for my group, and my final. I can't wait for this to be over!!

I'm SOO jealous

Do y'all see how close David is to Brett Favre?? He just sent me this picture from the game. I think its cruel. Though I begged him to send it to me. A vendor that is creating their safety video tonight after the game, got tickets for them. They are TWO ROWS off the field. Seriously he is so close to Brett Favre. I know Julie you are dying reading this saying, "I'm so disappointed in you" But you know what, I love Brett Favre. He freaking ROCKS!! And he's HOT! At least for a guy who is your age! :-)

Oh and don't worry, I sent my camera with him, so I will post better pictures tomorrow. Hopefully his finger won't be in all of those! :-)

Busy Day

We had a busy day today. We actually got some things hung on the wall. See our Steffes!

As you can see our stockings are out too. We decided to get some Christmas stuff out as well. Since we don't plan on being home over the weekend to do it, we thought we would get a head start. I really think David and I just really love Christmas and can't wait to get the stuff out every year. Here is Janie putting the angel on top the tree. Don't freak out Mom!

We also put up the Nativity set. And as usual, Alex couldn't keep his hands off of it. It was only there for thirty seconds before he was playing with the cow, and baby Jesus.

Tinkerbelle

Tinkerbelle decided to let me know that she was jealous of not getting anytime on the blog. So I took some pictures of her doing her favorite things. Isn't she cute?

Here she is stretching saying please please pet me!

Here she is snuggling by the fire.

And finally with her head in Janie's lap getting a pet.

She has such a hard life!

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of seeing Big Al sing his favorite song...you are in for a treat.

My poor little buddy and I have also been fighting colds and he is trying out a Breathe Right strip tonight...

Monopoly

Friday night we went to Sam's and Black Eyed Pea like I said in an earlier post, but then we came home and it was only 8:30. Since it was Friday night the kids did not want to go to bed. So we played Monopoly! FOR TWO HOURS!! The box says for 8 and older, but I think we did pretty good. Alex and I were the train, then the thimble, and I think we ended with the shoe. Janie was the dog, and David the wheel barrel. Janie did a great job counting out money and Alex did a good job rolling and counting the spaces. It was 10:30 before we decided to call it a night. But it was lots of fun. We will have to do it again soon!! I love classic board games. Maybe the Game of Life will be next!!

The Best Husband

I just wanted to share that I have the best husband! He is a great guy. He is a wonderful father, and he puts up with me. And that's not easy to do. He has been understanding of me and how I feel in Tennessee, especially the whole not having a job thing. He also takes great care of all of us. When I lost my camera he didn't get mad, he helped me walk the neighborhood and knock on doors asking people. When I asked for a new one for Christmas, he told me that he wasn't going to get me one for Christmas. He got me one early. He decided that I needed a camera to keep up with the blog, and everything going on in our lives. So I got my new camera this week. He got a heck of a deal at Tiger Direct online. Its very similar to my last one, just a newer model. SO THANK YOU DAVID! You Rock!

Black Eyed Pea

Last night we went to Sam's to do a little Christmas/Thanksgiving shopping. We got a few things, $100 worth of course. Can you really go in there and not spend that much? Anyway, when we were done, it was 7:30 and the kids were starving, so we went to Black Eyed Pea. They have the best broccoli rice casserole! So the kids each ordered there typical cheeseburger and mini corn dogs. I got a vegetable plate, because all I really wanted was broccoli rice casserole. And David got the "TEXAS" Sized Country Fried Steak. I about died when it came out. It was huge. I had to take a picture. They all put their hands on the plate so you could see how big it was. HUGE!

Great Visit, Great Breakfast

This weekend Grandpa Jack and Grandma Jane came to visit us. We had a very good time just hanging out. We looked at Alex's daycare, Janie's school, the apartment, we went into Nashville for a little shopping, then Mom and I went to Dollar General Market, Goodwill and Walgreen's. I have to say that Goodwill had the find of the day. We found the "drink" glasses David has been looking for. They were 49 cents each.

This morning before church we fixed breakfast. We had pancakes, sausage, and eggs. Janie helped make the pancakes. She did a fabulous job flipping the pancakes for me. Thank God for cellphones so I can still take some pictures!!

Your Getting Very Sleepy

Like I have said before, this moving experience hasn't been exactly how I planned it, but all in all the kids have done fantastically and we are in a nice home and are very happy. Since we have moved, Janie got our old bed, so that anyone who comes to visit will have a place to sleep, and we got a king size. Well our bed came in but the mattress did not, so we have been waiting very patiently,

Alex has struggled since moving into the house because he wants to continue to sleep with Janie in her room. She on the other hand is just very excited to have her own room. Since our mattress hasn't come in, David and I have been taking turns sleeping with her and the other one on the couch. Well yesterday our bed FINALLY came, so last night was her first night all on her own. Doesn't our bed look awesome?

Alex tried his best to get to sleep with Janie. He even tried to not go to bed at all. He came upstairs several times last night. Needing a drink, a kiss, and finally needing to go potty. When David and I came downstairs to go to bed around 10:30 we found Alex. I would much rather sleep in my bed then on the floor!

Halloween

The kids had so much fun trick-or-treating. We went around the block and both of them had full pails. We also took Rick and Gloria's daughter with us. She's only 15 months so she went to about 10 houses but she did pretty good. We had 130 plus trick-or-treaters at our house. The big bummer of Halloween was that I took my camera with me while I walked around with the kids. Apparently I set it down when I stopped to help Alex at some point with his costume and bucket. So no pictures of Halloween to share and no camera anymore. I'm very bummed. Hopefully Santa will be good to me! :-)

Student of the Month

Yesterday Janie came home from school announcing she was November's student of the month. The note said that the student of the month is chosen by the teachers because of their attitude, always doing there work, being responsible, and kind to others. So Janie gets her picture hung on the bulletin board at school, gets her picture taken for the newspaper, and gets an ice cream party at the end of November. We are very proud of her!

Moving Day

Moving Day came bright and early Saturday morning. The movers arrived at the apartment at 7:00am. Everyone was super tired. But they loaded up the truck, headed to storage to get a few more things, and then over to the house to unload. Unfortunately that's where the whole running smooth thing stopped. Kasey, the guy that was moving out of the house, was supposed to call us Friday afternoon with the keys and garage door opener. Kasey is a very slow mover. When I arrived at the house the first time at 7:30 there were no lights on. When I came back with the kids, Grandma, Grandpa and the dog, he was walking up the street to help the neighbor set up the big screen TV. He finally was gone at noon. And he still left a mess and a bunch of junk in the house. So our movers arrived at the house around 9:30 and waited an hour for Kasey to get out of the house. What a waste of time. They finally started loading around 11ish and got the first load done rather quickly. Then it was back to storage for the second load. Everything was in the house by 5. We did some cleaning and a little unpacking but all that was cut short because we had to go see High School Musical 3 Senior Year at 7:30. What fun!! We were all exhausted on Sunday. I've been working on unpacking all week. I think I may get it done eventually! :-)

Trick or Treat

Last night we went to the Nashville Zoo. They are having a special Halloween event this past weekend and this coming weekend and since we will be busy moving this coming weekend we took the kids last night. We went with David's boss Rick, his wife Gloria, and their daughter Samantha. The kids had a great time going from booth to booth trick or treating and getting their map stamped. Once they had all 20stamps they got to get a special surprise. (Cute Pumpkin Flashlight). We didn't see too many animals but we did go on a hayride and go through a Monster Lab where we got to touch Alien Guts, Kidney and Finger salad, brains, mummy skin and others. Alex did not like touching stuff. A lot of kids had their costumes on. We did not. David just didn't think it would be right for a hunter (Alex) to be at the zoo.

Got Oxygen

After we left the Rain Forest Cafe, Matt and David walked into Oxynate, the oxygen bar next to it in the mall. The listened to the lady explain the benefits and what all they would get, so they fell for it and decided to get oxynated. They got to sit in massage chairs, then sniff on some oxygen while they got their heads rubbed, then they got a power shot, and a Powerade. They seemed to like it. David who has had a cold, said he felt a lot better afterwards. I'm not sure if I believe him or if it was all in his head! :-) I might have to try it sometime I guess!

Katlyn's Birthday

The Cowell's came to visit because that is what Katlyn wanted to do for her birthday, which is tomorrow. Anyway she got to pick where we went to eat her birthday meal, so we went to the Opry Mills Mall and ate at the Rain Forest Cafe. The kids had lots of fun looking at all the animals. It was Jordan's first time there. Alex liked the storm.

And of course they all liked the ice cream Katlyn got for her birthday!

Waiting on the Cowell's

The Cowell's came to visit this last weekend, Janie and Alex were determined to stay up until they got here. They arrived Friday a little after 11:00pm. The kids just didn't make it. But aren't they cute sleeping on the couch?
